Law is an integral part of community living. No society is without a system. But law has no meaning if it is not based on morality. Without morality, law can only lead to disharmony in society. There must be constant vigilance to ensure the maintenance of ethics, standards and accountability as moral values that underpin the process of justice. To achieve this we need law enforcement from professionals who are morally and ethically motivated, with a commitment to defend the people's rights and dispense justice without fear or favour. People look to the judiciary as the safeguard of their expectations for democracy based on the rule of law.
